I just got my '58 Square Four started for the first time after it had sat for a long time (i.e. heavily wet-sumped). There was a large volume of oil pumping out of the breather pipe (# 2099-37) which I suppose is no surprise. However, I have not ridden this bike since I purchased it and I do not know if there is a supposed to be a hose on the end of the pipe. Should there be one and, if so, where would it be routed? Should it go back to the oil-tank, the drive chain, or elsewhere, or should it just discharge straight down?
Thanks in advance for any helpful answers.

It's the bare pipe pointing straight down behind the oil line junction block
