Hey All

I am kicking around a Greeves griffon 380 Rolling chassis missing the running gear.
I am also kicking around a T100 and T120 engine.
I have a faint idea that the T100 engine would be a good shoe in to the Greeves. I remember the old Challenger swaps, but this frame is much different. All tube and very very light. I assume it is either chromoly or really thin tube steel

Does anyone have experience with this?
Are the Greeves frames prone to cracking? If so where?

Much appreciated!

Here is a link to a Classic Motocross article that has the same machine with the optional leading link fork. Mine has the Ceriani fork in place

There was a guy in Classic bike magazine about 20 years years ago did this. He put a daytona engine in a greeves frame, very light and very fast.

I think that combination has been done several times, and is called a "Grumph."

Yes, but it seems the later CroMo frame was not used often or maybe at all. The alloy downtube frame seems to be the choice.

I am kicking around what I think to be a 1969 Griffon...I have the shell of the 380 engine and nothing else for the running gear.
Here is a link to pictures of one in excellent shape. Not sure if the write up is correct...”most collectible” maybe to a Greeves guy, but I’ve never heard of this model and I’ve not yet seen one at the AHRMA races.
