I’m building a frankenbike.

I have a Triumph tr25w 250 frame and wheels with a BSA b44 441 engine and BSA starfire tank and all BSA badging.

Do I have a BSA or a Triumph?

I’ve heard that the bike is what the frame is and that may be true. But this will have a BSA engine and built as a BSA.

I think I’m calling it a BSA, what do you guys think?

I'd say, call it anything you like. Being partial to BSA, that would be my vote. Fortunately, the registration rules in NYS are very lax; you can register it either by the frame number OR the engine number.

That’s good to know. I don’t have a title so I’m going to get a Vermont title first.

BSA it is!

Well ok, but in New York, motorcycles 1972 and older are not titled. What's the Vermont connection? Did you move from there?

No I read on this site that if you don’t have a title, you can get one from a company that works out of Vermont and they get you a Vermont title which you can transfer

I dont have any paperwork at all. Not a bill of sale, nothing. These are just parts. What do I do if I don’t have a bill of sale?

The TR25w was built at the BSA factory on the B25/B44 line. You can badge how you like.

Give them to your brother/son/father, and have him sell them to you. With receipts, of course ohno
