My brother has a condo 2 blocks off Broadway which is the street where most of the honky tonks are. He invited Wendy and me down for the solar eclipse a few years ago. It was great. Our first full night we went to the Grand Old Opry which was a blast in and of itself. Afterwards my brother wanted to take us out to explore the honky tonks. Wendy said she was tired. I know better than to argue with her, but my brother said "just one drink and then we will come home." Well we ended up being out till 4 AM and finished the night dancing to Merle Haggard's "Swinging Doors, a Jukebox and a Barstool." It was a memorable evening. Don't know if I would want to live there, but it was fun to visit. There are some great places to eat and drink. Every bar has live music. The bands aren't paid and exist on tips. Going rate for a request is $20. No idea as to bike stuff, but it's a fun place. Do yourself a favor and get tickets to the Grand Old Opry. Yes its over commercialized and all that, but its a hoot and a holler whether you like country music or not, and a memorable experience that shouldn't be missed.
