The same folks that I worked for in Texas and Chicago are flying me to Nashville on the 27th for a week.... Could be long work days and Im staying 13 miles from the heart of the city but I will certainly be trying to explore the music and food/pub scene if possible.... I dont know what my car situation will be though since I am not driving there. But if anyone wants to meet up let me know....

Wade,
My brother has a condo 2 blocks off Broadway which is the street where most of the honky tonks are. He invited Wendy and me down for the solar eclipse a few years ago. It was great. Our first full night we went to the Grand Old Opry which was a blast in and of itself. Afterwards my brother wanted to take us out to explore the honky tonks. Wendy said she was tired. I know better than to argue with her, but my brother said "just one drink and then we will come home." Well we ended up being out till 4 AM and finished the night dancing to Merle Haggard's "Swinging Doors, a Jukebox and a Barstool." It was a memorable evening. Don't know if I would want to live there, but it was fun to visit. There are some great places to eat and drink. Every bar has live music. The bands aren't paid and exist on tips. Going rate for a request is $20. No idea as to bike stuff, but it's a fun place. Do yourself a favor and get tickets to the Grand Old Opry. Yes its over commercialized and all that, but its a hoot and a holler whether you like country music or not, and a memorable experience that shouldn't be missed.

Nashville is a great music town for all kinds of music. Take advantage of it while you are there.

Good music places-

Station Inn - Bluegrass

Roberts Western World - Real Country Music

3rd and Lindsley - See Jack Pearson if you can. One of the best guitarists on the planet.

Have fun!

Thanks.... I just got off the phone with the client and it looks like I will be working most of the waking hours while I am there but I will make time to go out as much as I can.... I can sleep when I get home....

Nashville is maybe the one city I know of outside of NYC where you can eat good food at 11 PM. I'll text you some stuff to eat and also see if we can hook you up with Dave. With luck, he'll be laying somewhere while you're there.

I no longer live in Nashville. However, the band is playing in Chattanooga on Saturday night. I'll be back in Nashville maybe 4 am on the 27th. I usually sleep on the bus for a few hours before heading back to Crossville, but I could be convinced to stick around. When does your flight arrive?

2 :30 sunday afternoon then I have to build the studio at the Tyson Chicken factory... Where ever that is.... May or may not have time after... Then work starts a 6:30 AM everyday... Not sure how long each day will be but at least 10 hours.. So I might have evening free.... Job done on Thursday hopefully and catch a flight back Friday afternoon.... I wish I had driven there instead of them flying me in... Then I could have padded my time there on either end for some relaxing party time.... But dont worry I will cram some party time in.... My number is 917-362-1115 ... If you are in town and flexible I will make time to hang out...

Only Tyson factory I know of is out in Goodlettsville, north of town. Not much happening in that area.
There is a Bailey's bar just a few miles from there, though.

Thats the one.... I did get a rental car though and a google search says I will be 13 miles from downtown..... So the only thing getting in my way of a good time is long hours of work shocked
