I have a Weslake 750 twin motor used in flat track. Any idea where I can get some lower rod bearings or if they interchange with something. I've read that Dave Nourish's former company folded a few years back after it was sold to a new owner. Anyone in the know?

Nourish retired and sold his fully solvent company to a scam artist. Measure your current bearings, post the dimensions and I can check against my stock of unused shells.

I race a 500 Nourish triumph, as far as I know the shells are from a Norton Commando as Dave nourish told me once, as is the oil pump too..
Indeed Obsoletebikeparts has some old stock.
The new owner of Nourish engineering , Chris Bushell , is indeed a scam artist. He let people pay great deposits and didn't deliver anything. As far as i know he is bankrupt so it is difficult to get original parts. I don't know where his stock of parts is left , it was a lot !

I have been roadracing a 750 NRE/Weslake twin for many years now and had always had the luxury of getting any spares for it direct from Dave Nourish. With the new owner apparently going under I can’t do that any more, so I did have to start looking into finding a source for the big end shells.
They are not the same as Norton Commando ( the NRE/Weslakes have larger diameter big end journals ) but they are a modified version of what’s in the Austin A series engine. I can’t remember the exact model but I think they cross to an Austin 1300, ie a large journal A series crank. Where they are different, is their width. Dave Nourish just bought the Austin ones ( Glaciers?) and machined them down. Again, I don’t remember the exact width dimension needed but you would just have to make them the same as your current ones.
If you look at the back of your current shells there will hopefully still be the maker’s markings on them and you could possibly get a local engine reconditioning shop to cross them for you to something they can get hold of. The place that crossed them for me was Autosport in Ballard WA and they had the shells in stock. However I didn’t buy any at the time since I had a new set on hand

Big eng journal size for the Commando and the 1275cc A series engine is common at 1.75" . A series engines were made in millions so bearings were cheaper so maybe Dave bought the cheapest bearing and modified it.
