That's GREAT news Robert.......thank you for going to the effort and be sure to tell your club how much Melissa ( and all of us on the team) appreciates it. With bb.com's help we have been able to keep Team Anna Bananna in the top ten teams......with over 60 teams that has been a struggle. We have exceeded our goal but with 18 days left we're still fighting to keep on that top ten list.

Here's a challenge if anybody wants to give it a go........we're ( the team) running a 5K. It's a fun run but it will be my first timed run as an adult. ( I ran track in high school....1/4, mile relay) About 14 months ago I weighed almost 240 lbs.......I've been working hard and have dropped almost 80 lbs. I've been running/jogging/walking to help lose the weight and keep it off. I've never been a FAST runner.....just steady. How about........I offer a bet. You make a donation....any amount and if I don't finish in the top three places for my age group 65-69 I give your money back...DOUBLE. I'll also mention that a little over three years back I had 5 bypasses.....anybody out there a betting man?????? Come on......you got $20.....turn it into $40????? There's going to be over 1000 runners.....probably a dozen in my age group. We'll keep it here on bb.com upfront so I can't weasel out of it. 18 days left.....

Of course we'll be back at Christmas asking for more money........this time around I might sell off one of my unit singles to make up for beating you fine folks up on this one.......

BLESS each and everyone of you that has taken the time to help......it's a good cause. PLEASE WATCH THIS VIDEO.......for some reason it starts at :36 ( with Anna's brother Arron talking) back it up to the start......that's Anna and her Mother Melissa. ( our team captain) This charity means a lot to them.

Voices of Hope

It has been a shitty week for Anna and her family.
She has not slept for 5 days, and constantly asks to go to the bathroom.
No one in the house is getting much rest.
Anna’s dad Steve is taking her to the hospital today for tests.
Count your blessings friends!
God Bless Anna Mott

7 days left.......with your help we've raised almost $7000. That wasn't enough to keep Melissa in the top 5 but we're holding on to a spot in the top 10 and that's not shabby considering there are almost 70 teams. I'm dealing with a injury and just hope I can at least finish the 5K. THAT'S my luck with just a few days left.......

Bless each and everyone of you that took the time to donate to this cause.

I wonder...

How many people would pony up some moo-lah to see pix of me with Anna, and me dressed in an inflatable Yellow M&M's costume...?

Gotta be worth $100!

When you make a donation for this, be sure to enter "M&M's" after your name.
When the M&M's donations add up to $100, game on!
Will post pix!

Hey Gordon, I have a Sasquatch suit you can borrow...probably be a bit warm though!

Less than 24 hours now. With your help we raised a little over $7000 and kept Melissa ( Team Anna Bananna) in the Top Ten teams from start to finish. (hopefully, we won't know for sure until Saturday) That's not too shabby considering there are almost 70 teams.

We're going to see this to the end........AAR with photo's to follow.

Willy took my bet and if I lose, I'll pay up on the next donation drive.......I'll pledge this out front.

to be continued............................................

I'm trying to get David to post a report......he took MUCH better photos than I did. His ADV post is excellent.

After the dust settled we were able to keep Team Anna Bananna in the top ten teams......from start to finish and that was quite an accomplishment considering there were close to 70 teams. Couldn't have done it without your support.

Robert made the trip back and I think that's the first time all three of us have been together with Anna. ( David, Robert and Gordon)...special thanks to Robert for walking up and getting my sympathy medal.....my right hip is gone.....this one did it in. Going to the doctor's this week. Right now I can't throw a leg over a motorcycle....that has to change.

to be continued..........................

Sympathy medal your arse!
GG placed second in his age class!
I am pretty sure there were at least 5 - 10 runners in his class, and all on a bum hip.

Me?
I smartly took the 1K walk, and pushed Miss Anna with assistance from David and Cindy {wasnt it?}

Great day for Anna and the Mott family.

We had three Britbikers walk or run with Anna today. Gordon ran with a sore hip (it happens to old timers...), while Cindy , Robert and I walked with Anna.

Cindy has helped Anna in the past with horseback riding and dance. It is hoped Anna will some day wish to do those activities again.

Here is how the day went in Melissa's words:

I never cease to be blown away by the goodness of our friends.

Today, again, I realized that even after 7 years, we still have amazing, caring, giving, selfless, supportive people willing to walk alongside us in this journey of hard.

One came from NC, one from SC, two came to run before leaving immediately for a Florida trip, one is like me and doesn’t “do” early...but she did today, and one came because that’s who he is. Each one of these beautiful humans has taught me so much.

I am so blessed, so honored, so incredibly lucky to have them in our lives. Team Annabananna surpassed all my wildest dreams and you guys humble the heck out of me. GG, you need to work for a non-profit! No wonder you raised all this money. Who could tell you “no”?!

You’re good people, all of you! Thank you, guys, thank you.

It was a mixed bag emotionally for me yesterday. Lots of sad stories at this event. People who are survivors, people who have lost family members, testimonials from survivors.

Count your blessings friends!

God Bless Anna Mott

This photo sums up the day for me........I got to meet papa Mott (Steve) for the first time and hang out with Anna. It felt like I'd known Steve all my life.......he's everything David said he was. Good folks those Motts and it's an honor to consider them as friends.

Thank you ALL again for the support.......you helped to make Team Anna Bananna's day.

There are a few more of you that need to be in the picture.........maybe next year we can do that for Melissa. There are some of you that have stuck with this from the start and it would be wonderful if we could get as many of you together as possible for a group photo with the Motts........think about it and I'll be back next year to ask you about it.

A grateful and humbled Gordon in NC

Amazing how this beautiful, powerful young lady has re-arranged my opinion of "heroes" and "role models". I feel so strongly about this, but the words won't come. She is OUR daughter.

Thanx to all bb.com members who are helping, and God bless the Motts.

Thanks to the above. You all are the best.

A recent post from Melissa:

"Feeling a little discouraged this season and think Christmas miracles don’t exist anymore?

I just gave Anna Mott a bath and dressed her for bed. And as I always do, when she stood up from putting on her pajama pants, I hugged and kissed her. Usually she hates this because her brain damage has caused her to dislike being touched.

For the FIRST TIME since her brain surgery, she, on her own, voluntarily kissed me back. She actually said, “Mom, come back.” And hugged me and kissed me on the cheek. A real live kiss, not some fleeting brush off!

Maybe the miracles are in the small things. The $5 off coupon someone hands you as you get in the checkout line, the lady who paid for your Dunkin in the car ahead, the Christmas card you got from a long lost friend, the Christmas movie that all the fam sits down to watch together.

It’s the little things that bring the joy. And tonight, I have a lot of it!!! ❤️

Blessings to you all this season and may you find miracles, big and small."

God Bless Anna Mott

I believe we have lost some wonderful photos in this thread to the PhotoBucket fiasco, what a sorry situation. My wyfe would greatly appreciate seeing the "flying" photo of Anna the ballerina again, but I could not find it thru 5 or 6 of the first pages. IF POSSIBLE, could it be posted up here again? Thanx again, lads.
