Hello Everyone:

I have been looking for a 1958 Woodsman rear hub (half width) for awhile now without much luck. Can anyone here help?

Thanks,

Rick

When you posted you had acquired this, it appeared to have a back wheel ?

Too many Ajays and Matchies ??

I bought an Indian made half width front wheel, for an earlier model.
It seems so far to be rather like the originals....

Rohan:

The wheel that is on the bike is a full width hub and it should have a half width hub.

I would like it to be correct.

Have picked up quite a few more Ajays and Matchies. Too many to list here! :-).

Terrible disease.

Regards,

Rick

Seems to me that the full width hub would be correct being very stout for what would have been an off road bike.
But if you are looking for half width they are available on eBay coming from India and brand new. Or you can check with Hitchcocks UK and they will probably have them.

Thanks Tom for the reply.

The Indian made hubs are not correct as they are a thinner gauge than the original Woodsman and smaller in dimension.

Hitchcocks does not have either.

I will keep searching. They have to be out there....

Have you tried Mick Page at Burton Bike Bits? He has a lot of original stuff still. https://burtonbikebits.net/royal-enfield-parts/
Good luck
