After last year Derbyshire DGR I was knackered for a while afterwards, Marie suggested that being the third ride it might be time to call it a day.
I'd settled for that this year sponsored a few riders home and abroad
But now I've looked at the route and I like it. Best so far and if need be I could join it part way at the tea & coffee stop.
Made me think that maybe I could do just one more DGR, I may have good days & not so good days but with luck Sunday 29th September will be one of the good days.

Please be kind enough to have a look at this -

https://www.gentlemansride.com/rider/BeezaBryan

I'm now holding my cap out for all & any sponsorship, the price of a few (or more :)) cans of Yuengling Black & Tan or a pint or so for the GB folks would be appreciated beerchug

I've tried twice last night and once again tonight to donate. I can't get past the NEXT button after filling in the other part of the form.
Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong? Thanks for any help.

Sorry to hear you are having problems Franko, let me see if I can help.

If the Next button turns black then you have missed out on something.

To check I have just made a small donation to a guy on a UK ride.
I found that if you miss out anything other than "Display Name" it will not let you proceed
There are "tick" options at the bottom, they may safely ignored

Also PM sent

Thanks for your patience and persistence

Hi Bryan: It went through this morning. The only thing I did different was to spell out Wisconsin instead of using the USPS abbreviation of WI.
Enjoy your ride.

I have wondered if there any other Britbikers taking part in whatever place they call home?

Well thanks guys for sending the wind & rain across the pond eek

Been a damp day so much so that I had to use my "this is where I might need to stop & go home" plan.

Pics etc later, I'm knackered & my bed is calling me. I know it is early but............

Here be a taster

If we HAD any of that kind of weather here in the East, we wouldn't be sharing it with anyone!

Temperatures in the mid 90's last week and this week coming up, no rain for a month, the grass is brown and dry and crackling underfoot. We'd give a LOT for some wet, damp, rainy days like that!

Well, maybe not to ride in ... wet gear sort of obscures the sartorial splendor of the Gentleman Riders ....

Regret that I was unable to participate in my intended ride in Cincinnati. Came down with an awful cold this last week. Would have brought my cold to my sister and elderly mother so decided to stay in the garage and work on the Triton project. Oh well.

Apologies for blaming the wrong place for last Sunday crap weather. Came off the Atlantic OK but further south.

Humble thanks to the BritBikers for their outstanding support and Steve Jubbee Prince was taken on the ride in spirirt on account he couldn't do it himself.

Here are the pics
I did have the farmer jacket with me but only managed to wear it twice, once at home before leaving and once more briefly at the ride start, the Knockerdown Inn Carsington.

Dry pleasant ride from home but that did not last for the rain soon turned up

On theses DGR events there normally are many interseting classics but this time mostly modern bikes woth modern rubber and who could blame them, I didn't.

Within a few miles on the ride the rain become biblical, reckon we might have seen Noah & his Ark floating down the road through Matlock.
By the time we got to the next stop, the Square & Compass at Darley Bridge I decided that here would bw the end for me. Though there were deep floods on the next sectio to the end at teh Greyhound Inn warlsow many if not most of the 100 starters made it to the end.
Me being near the front managed to get the shelter of a gazebo, straight in & slewed it round to face the direction of home. Used a longer main roads that though flooded in parts was the safest if not the quickest way home

Looks like a good time was had by all! Good on yer for showing the flag for the Olde Iron out on the road.

I ride in the rain when I need to, but I don't go out in it for fun any more. Too hard to see, too hard for other people to see you, and, when it's like it was there, too much chance of gravel, mud, and debris in the road (see "too hard to see" above).

Besides, if you can't show off your tweeds, gaiters, plus-fours and all that ..... ?

Lannis

In weather like that, it's rare that I'm pulling a out a camera or phone to take photos. I'm too focused on keeping the rain from seeping through the foul weather gear and trying to stay dry.

Great photos! The green Laverda looks lovely...

Very kind of you for taking me along on the Flash, virtually. Good on yer for showing the flag of a proper Distinguished Gentleman too!

Cheers,

Steve
