Usually and shop which has equipment sophisticated enough to replace valve seats will supply the seat rings, no problem. After all, you wouldn't go to McDonalds and take your own meat, would you?

I would agree with that Gregg. A lot of experienced machinists will simply make there own seats. I would however express to them to make them out of a good quality material. And warn you against using a automotive machinist. In SF there is a motorcycle machinist who sounds very knowledgable. His name is David McClellan,<[email protected] machineworks.com>. Cannot speak to his work. But definitely seems to be understanding of tolerances and geometry of bike engines. Very helpful he was to me after a automotive machine shop screwed up my heads royally. Good luck!! Sol
