Hi.
My 57 Venom broke down and it turns out that the cams are spinning in the cam wheel. Should they be a press fit and if so I would have thought that they would be attached in a more positive manor. Is this a common problem and is there a fix without buying new parts? After looking it seems that the new cams and cam wheel are sold separately so if I buy new I would have to get them fitted together. Am I correct and if so what is the procedure for fitting them together?

The cam is held in place by a tapered press fit.If you place the cam tapered portion into the tapered cam wheel it should only go about 1/2 way through.
If it goes a long way through then you have little press fit and will need to get new components.
A vise or press will be sufficient to push the cam in flush to the back of the cam wheel.
Note:You will probably have to dial the cam in using a degree wheel .
