I can't find any information on needle sizes. Lots of info on needle jets but can't find anything on what measurements pertain to the various needles. I have a pill bottle half full of new and near new needles that ended being all thrown in together with some obviously from other applications (various diameters, lengths and tapers).
The needle I need is for a 1970 Triumph 120R which should be a #622/124.
Does anybody know the the length, main diameter, start of taper and diameter at end of taper.
Perhaps there is a table of these measurements somewhere that would make a worthwhile post but i certainly coun't find anything like it.
thank you for any assistance.

More importantly is the identification rings at the top of the needle, the 124 needle has 2 (being the common needle type) it’s also important to note that they are a service item as are the jets and should be replaced at the same time.

Now let’s all have a beer beerchug

68’ A65 Lightning “clubman”
71’ A65 823 Thunderbolt (undergoing restoration)
67’ D10 sportsman (undergoing restoration)
68’ D14 trials (undergoing transformation)

If your pocket book affords it, one could replace both at the same time. IMHO the needle jet is subject to more wear than the needle. Because most of our riding is done while the straight part of the needle is in the needle jet measuring the straight portion of the needle, just above where it starts to taper ,will give you a good indication of the needle's condition. It should measure .0985".
