If it still has the points for the ignition (?), have you checked the gaps of the points as the points cam rotates.
If it sparks when you open the points with a screwdriver, there should be no reason it can't spark when the points cam opens the points ??

First sign of no spark, its nearly mandatory you try a set of NEW spark plugs.
Amazing how many maladies this can fix.
Once its running, try the old set - and put the newies back in the box for next time, or next tune up time...

A... Bike has stock wiring?
B... [edit] 12 volt negative positive ground .
C. .. 2 - 6volt coils
D...1 ballast resistor .
E...1 e-start/ solenoid
F....1 charged battery ... able to hold a load .

1. Locate the ballast resistor ( part 30 )
On your bike .
With key and kill on ,
Whats the voltage before (key side) and after (coil side) the ballast ?

2. What is the battery voltage ?

3 whats the battery voltage after a 5 sec E-start attempt ?

4. ( bonus question ) what's the voltage on the coil side of the ballast
During an e-start attempt ?
