200 is a good starting point if the frame is straight. looks like it was hit.

Frame appears straight. I cant see any evidence of a crash. Footrests may have been bent during years of storage/ neglect. No scuffs dents or bends visible on frame, forks, bars etc. other than usual surface stuff.

foot pegs dont generally bend up like that. and that bent peg is the same side of the bike as the busted up front brake plate. so something happened. but i certainly take your word the frame is strait. i will be in central jersey, princeton i think, the weekend of june 8. if u still have it i would be interested in it.
curious, are those 1 inch bars? looks like a late 80's HD style grip on the right side. somebody ran a left side throttle on this machine?

Bars could well be 1 ", the spacer shims for 7/8" are not fitted. Still a good deal for the cases/ crank etc, these frames are strong, between the bent rests and the rear loop its had a bit of a tumble at some point, worth pressure testing.

I will look more closely at this tonight. It appears ok, with no obvious damage, but it's history is unknown to me. Got it as swap for some VW stuff way back. I see the rear loop in the pic and it does look off in that shot, and I agree it probably took some force to bend that footrest. Will report back. (Admittedly I am clearing out a bunch of stuff preparatory to a move so could have been more thorough checking this one out)

OK, I feel like a tool. Just looked it over and the rear section is bent for sure. Center stand is bent, rear loop looks to be pushed down and to the side a bit, the section where the rear footrest attaches is also pushed in. The front section looks OK, as do the forks and triple trees. The handlebars sit a little off kilter too, it looks to be that the through bolt section of the mount is bent where it passes through the top clamp. On the positive, I located some engine parts that I had removed from the bottom end, including inner left side cover and hardware, oil pump (broken tacho tab) and a few other bits. But to balance the good, I looked at the motor closely and saw how dirty it is. Apparently water had gotten into the outer cover so there's some rust and residue. Does not look like water got into the case and there is no evidence of rust or water on the inside parts. I am in the process of updating the CL ad with more pics, since I gave up trying to post pics here. Last few are of motor interior, kind of hard to make out. I apologize for any confusion and/or misleading info I gave on this pile. On the whole I think the motor is alright for a rebuild and the frame could be fixed, as there are no severe bends, crumpled sections or even scrapes, gouges etc. That being said, I really just would like to see it all gone; as mentioned I will be moving soon.
Needless to say, this will lower my expectations as far as price is concerned!

So far have been unable to find number on frame, other than what appears to be a casting # on steering head. (B44B41853) Nothing on gusset from frame to steering head. (I'm not an OIF Guy, sorry)
There are numbers on the bottom of the lower engine mounting lugs, but they don't appear to be VINs. (83 2109) ??

Think the B44B number is someone trying to impersonate a 1968 B44 frame for DMV dodging/fraud etc

frame nos should be on LHS steering head gusset, they are faintly stamped at best, probably need a scuff with a sanding pad to show up.
