I've got a BSA Thunderbolt hardtail with straight through pipes and I'm really struggling to find any baffles small enough here in the UK. The pipe is 30mm (1 3/16") wide does anyone have any ideas? Thanks
To silence, the exhaust gasses need to expand and dissipate the sound waves. The 2 main types of silencer use either a perforated tube inside a box, usually surrounded by some form of wadding or a series of chambers connected by tubes. Just putting a baffle in the end of a header pipe may reduce the noise slightly but will hurt performance very badly
