I've got a BSA Thunderbolt hardtail with straight through pipes and I'm really struggling to find any baffles small enough here in the UK. The pipe is 30mm (1 3/16") wide does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

I had to stick the smallest one I could find on a lathe, could not get one to fit without modifying.

Thanks kommando, smallest I can find is 35mm. How did you go about making it smaller?

Why are you running a 30mm pipe, the engine will end up getting choked up.

Turned it down on the lathe, it was a lot smaller than 35mm, nearer 31mm. Found it on eBay but that was 8 years ago.

The guy I'd purchased the bike from had some pipes custom made for it. Eventually when I have the funds I will get some more made but at the moment I will have to run these

To silence, the exhaust gasses need to expand and dissipate the sound waves.
The 2 main types of silencer use either a perforated tube inside a box, usually surrounded by some form of wadding or a series of chambers connected by tubes.
Just putting a baffle in the end of a header pipe may reduce the noise slightly but will hurt performance very badly
