Hi all,
I am trying to figure out an engine code for a bottom end I have. It is A65E *** which I am thinking is maybe a 64 or 65 Spitfire Hornet. I do not have a frame with it. The closest frame I would have is a 66 Spitfire (A65S). Is there any advantage of putting these two together? What would the bottom end be worth on it's own?
Thanks

If you had an A50 marked frame, A50A I think, it would be appropriate. A65E engine in that later frame would be fine, but another bitza bike. I have 2 A65E bottom ends here, I've never felt they were special. As you know, it's only the number that ever means anything. If timing side bush and all are decent, maybe $100...........but there are a lot of spare cases and bottom ends out there.

Yeah thanks Leon, kinda what I figured. There is someone local here that wants an E code motor so I think he has an A50 frame ready for it. I am looking to clear out some of my excess stuff so I guess I will see what it is worth to him.
