I have a new ard m-4 setup i am planning on putting on my 64 a65 motor build. Has anyone taken apart the magic black box to see what and how they are made. Im just looking at if down the road i need to replace it and have to build my own..

On the face of it, it's an ac cdi, if it includes advance/retard it may have an rc network or similar in the trigger circuit.
Similar to jap and other types. Probably a thyristor switch and a reasonably large cap charged to around 3-400v.
If it packs up, there are a few aftermarket boxes that may do the trick.

Life is much too important to be taken seriously.
