Is such a thing available? I have exhausted any internet searches I can think of. I've been trying to identify a headlight I have but no luck. It's 6 inch, visored rim, sealed beam (1 piece glass and reflector) with rotary switch and small smiths magnetic speedometer. Black with unique red one-piece sheet metal mount- not your typical "ears", Not old-timey, more like late 50s', early 60s'. I'll work on a pic. Any ideas? Thanks for any input.

Velocette favored Miller electrics over Lucas as long as they were available. Dennis Quinlan, who has an extensive collection of Velocette related literature, has Miller catalogs. He has a blog spot (velobanjogent) where he has posted some of this information. You may want to check that out.

FYI a sealed beam does not have a detachable bulb, the lens and reflector are the bulb

Maybe a different route to identify it... there is (at least used to be) a site/chart that identified the Smiths gauges by application and years. I think it may be Rask Cycle website? Anyway, maybe looking up the speedo numbers (assuming it is the correct speedo for the headlight) would tell you what you're looking for, make, model, and year.

Being magnetic, I think that it would date to 1964 and later. Basing that on BSA, which didn't change from chrono to magnetic until that model year. I'm just guessing that magnetics weren't available previously, and that would apply to other marques also (?)... that chart will tell you.

Don't know if this helps, but I've only seen the small Smiths (2"?) available in 80 and 100mph variations. And have never seen them used on a bike of over 250cc.
