I am surprised no one else has posted this one. This is a good swap meet/bike show to break up winter and a meeting place for assorted BritBike.com types. From the Potomac Vintage Riders (PVR) site:

This year’s event will once again be held at the York Fairgrounds Utz Arena! The show hours are Sunday, January 27, 2019 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM

It is on my calendar, anyone else?\

Ed, no excuses this year........

That is too far in the future to know Bill. As much kneejerk management these days......I can only plan a few days in advance. And even that is risky.....

I am fine with planning. My problem is an insecure micro-manager who changes plans, well, just because he needs to remind everyone who is actually in charge. Except when it involves tough decisions. But even tho he ducks tough decisions, he is very good at 2nd guessing the decisions he ducked. And taking credit for the decision if it works to his favor.

I may be unemployed by then......I did leave one Friday in November with no plans to return.........cooler heads talked me out of it......may not work next time

Sounds like you're getting close to pulling the ripcord ... Work can be satisfying and fun and sociable, and the work itself still is, I'm sure ... but sometimes it comes with bosses that make it not worthwhile. Could be worth waiting it out and putting up with it, hoping for a positive change, or Time To Go.

I retired twice - once because the Green Eye Shade bean-counters started actually trying to run the business and failed, and once simply because economic times and technology caused our business to fall off pretty bad. First time was people, second time not, but I was running a week-by-week spreadsheet detailing what it would take financially for me to leave, and when my income-vs-outgo lines crossed, I was O-U-T and never have regretted it!

For some reason, when I think of Rich, a cool head is not what immediately comes to mind.

At some point, one of us will decide which hotel for Saturday night. But the meeting point on Saturday will be the Liquid Hero brewery. You need to try the Adams Stout.

Last year, we just congregated at the hotel and ordered pizza and had some adult beverages.

BTW Ron T may be interested in joining us this year.

Or sometimes it comes with bosses that make it worthwhile. My current boss is probably the best boss I've ever had. I've seen him threaten to quit because one of his guys was wrongfully accused of something. Both are still around. He offered to shut down a project for me when my MIL passed a few years ago where gear had been shipped, boats were in place, all costing a LOT of money. Now, getting jerked around by our customer...not so much fun.

With that said, Friday I gave up the division I was growing because, well, it's not growing and I'm personally losing money and the customer indicated nothing was going to change. So, I'm going back in the field full time where I can make substantially more money for way less responsibility and stress. That means I'll be gone the 27th unless something changes.
