hi all.Have a Matchless front frame which has a metal bulge with a hole thro centre.This is part of the seat to gearbox area of the frame & does not appear to serve any purpose?.What model was this used for? & possible dates.thanks for your interest.

It is most likely for a G9 twin and the hole was for the air cleaner. 1952 to 1954.
