I have a 1954 g3ls, it has an AMAL 626 Concentric, think it should have a Monobloc.
What jets and Needle should it have in it.

According to my Burlen 10th edition carb settings and spare parts book, a 1954 Matchless G3LS had a 76AV/1ED ( pre Monobloc ), internal bore, 1 1/16 ; mainjet,4/042 - 150; needle jet,4/061-106; needle posn. 3; throttle valve, 6/0524; float chamber,1ED (3 degree); needle, 6/065 ( needle and clip kit, RKC /526 ).
It appears that a Monobloc was fitted from 1955.

Thank you for the comprehensive information
Can you advise how the Concentric that has been fitted to this bike should be jetted and needles.
It's as it was when I bought it last year
Any advise would be aporeciated

Sorry, Rob, I can't advise on this as my experience with a '53 G3LS was with the pre Monobloc carb !

Its pretty common to find concentrics substituted for earlier type carbs.
But rare to find any jetting recommendations for them.

Does it run OK with it as is ?
And do you know what is currently in it, jetting wise.

Hi, firstly I've not ridden the bike much, it's a difficult Starter, think I need to strip and clean the carb first and see where I go from there.
Positive thing is that I have a good spark
