Mk111 has pazon ignition, i have no experience with the Pazons. Battery tests good, looked at pazons trouble shooting page. No spark with the plugs out and grounded, when the start button is pressed, however when the button is released it sparks. Any ideas?

What happens when you use the kickstarter only ?
Sounds like not enough volts when the starter motor is involved.
How good is your battery.

Didn't the Mk 3 (with points) have some tricky stuff that shunted off 12v to the coils when starting ?

Load tested the battery and jumped with a new one. No change. Has 6v coils with a Pazon ignition. Bike arrived with a bad stator and rotor, replaced with a 3 phase and potronics.

What does the voltage between the ignition box + and - fall to, when the starter is turning?

Has the white/purple (ballast resistor bypass) wire been disconnected from the solenoid as that would prevent the EI sparking when the starter is operating but should still spark when using the kickstart?

(Do not disconnect the solenoid white/red)
