I need an aftermarket finned sump plate for a 441 Victor. Who sells them?

I haven't searched outside of eBay but you might also check with BCS, British Only and C.B.S., just to name a few.

Carefully consider off-road use with one of these. I had fitment problems with the skid plate trying to use one... they may not all be as deep though? There isn't enough ground clearance on the stock 441 to start with, and this can become the lowest, most vulnerable point.

Good point. I didn't think of that. Thanks.

I bought one from Mark Cook/CCM and it fit under the skid plate with room to spare and the drain plug is on one side, so you can have it at the lowest spot on the bike when it's on its kickstand.

That one looks perfect. How can I contact CCM?

Curmudgeon,
Cut and paste the link below. It's also below the photo I posted

I am not sure if they are back at work yet.
There was a death in the family a little while ago and Mark has been absent from the B50 forum where he usually lurks for quite a while.
So if you get no response leave it for a few weeks and try again.
If you ask nicely the might een put the drain hole in a side so the fins run front to back not left right with the bolt on the right for the same ease of draining as mentioned before.

As an occasional B50 forum visitor I didn't know Mark was experiencing family problems, however having met Mark several times when he was based near Swindon, I can attest to the quality of his workmanship as well as the huge amount of knowledge he has on BSA unit singles.

I have an alloy sump plate fitted on my B44 Shooting Star, it came with a magnetic drain plug which when inspected every year shows a grey sludge which I assume is metallic particles from piston & ring wear. I seem to remember I bought it from eBay, its not an SRM or CCM UK made unit but works well enough.

Ground clearance isn't an issue on my bike as I don't ride off road but if I did then finding a sump plate which fits under the skid plate would be a good idea. Alternately you could possibly modify the skid plate to make it fit.

The threads in the crank case which hold the sump plate are often weak and/or stripped. I recommend using helicoil thread inserts in this area which are much stronger and will help keep the sump plate secure and leak free.
