I've never seen this design, what are they? They appear to be sturdy and well made. Thanks.

Look similar to a half a dozen I have in a drawer but not the same but I don't know what kind they are either. Maybe there are many similar ones made by lots of aftermarket companies over the years....Only mark on one of them is an R on the handle, presumably for "right". Think it was on a T100 when I bought it in the early 90's.

Cheers, Wilf

On a more 'original' standard pair of Triumph taps I have, the "R" is on the lever without the standpipe inside the filter - i.e. the Reserve tap.

Speculating, the tap parts suggest an attempt to make a tap that could be assembled to fit many applications - 1/4"BSP adapters at both ends for Triumphs and late BSA's, 3/8"BSP adapter on one end for earlier BSA's; NP, metric, spigotted, angled, internally-threaded, etc. adapters for other vehicles?

Regards,

Thanks, Wilf, Stuart. That's what i was thinking, adaptable to many applications, but it seems like a lot of extra trouble to manufacture. I was hoping that these were *rare* and I could hawk them on e-Bay ... and pay off the mortgage ... .
