My father in law likes BSA Hornets. We found this Hornet in the basement of a restaurant. Most of the bike was not able to be salvaged. Rusted frame, aftermarket tank, no covers, seat was a mess, etc... He decided to build a dirt bike with the motor. He changed the head to a single carb. Found a new frame for the motor. Used a custom painted alloy tank. And started attaching parts that he thought would look right.

This bike shakes the floor when she is growling.

My 1966 BSA Thunderbolt.
Was a nicely restored machine when I got it in 2004.
Over the years I've been restoring it again, piece by piece.
The big item was finding a decent chrome sided tank.
Not a daily driver, but when the sun is out, I'm gone.

This is my new project 441. Intermittent spark and hasn't been on the road in 15 years. Looking forward to getting her going.

Not worried about it, thanks for the info. Possible a later engine swapped in or are there any other indicators the bike may be a 70? I'll have to double check the title but I'm pretty sure at least the frame is 67.

A friend of my father in law sold him this Victor that was sitting for a long time. The grips are AMAL and it has the tire pump. It is running. Leaving it as a running original.

Nice... as it sounds like you already know, AMAL grips would have been stock on a 66... think that was the last year for them?

Finally located and fitted a '69 front brake to my FS replica. I'm not planning any further mods.

My recently bought 1951 Bantam D1. Bike was ridden in the 1951 & 1952 ISDT in austria by Fitzroy Allen who won a gols in the 1951 race on the bike. Bike has been in storage since 1953 and only taken out for shows a few times. A time capsule of its last race

Here's my 1970 Thunderbolt that I recently purchased as a project. Prior owner had the carb and top end rebuilt just before I bought it. I was unlucky enough to shear the kickstart ratchet pinion gear the first time I tried to start it. This is my first vintage motorcycle and I'm a complete beginner when it comes to these bikes and doing anything mechanical in general beyond changing a tire/brakes etc but I'm sure this bike will make me a mechanic whether I like it or not!

My 64 Lightning Rocket, all original except for a repaint in the 70's (originally the blue) and the front fender. Very low mileage, the original owner crashed it and has had 2 owners since with very little riding. It's a good looking 15-20 footer.

Something a little different. It is in fact a BSA B40 despite what it says on the tank, AFS stands for Auxiliary Fire Service. The AFs was disbanded in 1968 and all of their vehicles were returned to MOD stores. many were sold off at public auctions later. Many being bought by dealers who "civilianized" them before selling them on. A few managed to keep their original livery.

71' A-65. Previous owner had the engine all sorted out, but there was a crap paint job done a few years ago. Always been a fan of chrome, so I had the fenders and tank and side engine panels chromed. I painted the tank alloy strip in a red clear coat finish. Currently having mufflers and an after-market oil filtration system installed at Frank Deihl's Classic Cycle Works in Georgetown, SC. Bike starts and runs great, and it gets a lot of attention everywhere I ride it.
