Don't know where else to post this. Chrome is telling me Brit Bike is not secure and there should be a security certificate????? There is more but as usual I don't understand about half the explanation.

I get that crap all the time. On other sites to. It’s just a security alert that’s in your computer. I don’t worry about it.

It gets worst than just a nuisance. For example:

My browser is old, and so are its security certificates. And there is no way to add new ones. You have to update the browser, which for my and my mac means the updating the OS, which means backup, and maybe a new machine. Now what they used to do is just send a warning, but now you can't read the site at all.

This all because some people thought it important that people not be able to see where you browse to. Now it is the fad for sites to demand secure access. The internet made a big deal of the fact that the NY times did not use the new format prescription, of htts I think. IMHO this is a bunch of malarkey. Like I care that someone might be interested in knowing if I read the Times. Now I can't read it.

Http>>>Https

FYI We have not upgraded to the new security standards yet.
Therefore some browsers notify the website to be insecure as default.
All payment transactions goes thru Paypal which is secure.
If you are ever doubt that you are on BritBikes server when you login just check your url
if it reads www.britbike.com nothing fishy is going on.

BSAing you

Morgan, pls pls do not upgrade to the new security standards! It is not necessary. Older browsers will not be allowed in at all. And some people like me have to change their operating system to get a new browser, which is a hassle, and some times they have to get a new machine to update the operating system.

The format is something like htss, I can remember. If it is on the site. An old browser can not even get on. This leaves many people out.

That new security is just so people can not see where I go with my browser, if they are watching. And who would be watching me, and who would care if someone goes to britbike anyway.

It is absurd, IMHO. Wagging fingers on the internet made a big deal out of this. Bunch of twits I say. They forced the NYtimes to adopt that new security. Now I can't even go there.

Please don't do it!
