And the brake rod is a tight sliding fit on the square shaft so a gentle tap wil drive the pivot into the drum releasing the lever.
Get the part number for the nut then look it up in the Stainless Fastners BSA Triump fastener guide that you downloaded saved and then printed out.

Hi Tracey, Get the part number for the nut then look it up 14-0303 aka 3/8"UNF aka 3/8"-24. Fwiw, I fit 3/8"UNF stainless dome nuts to keep crap and water out of the grease nipple (and thus the brake cam). I replace the large o.d. washers with stainless so they don't go rusty where the nut scratches 'em. Dome nut fitted loosely over the nipple can be tapped with a hammer to release the lever from the cam without damaging the nipple. Hth. Regards,

I used one of these to get my brake drum levers off recently. They were a very tight fit, probably never been off before, the puller is a battery terminal puller from Machine Mart . I had to lightly file the puller teeth to a slightkg thinner profile to get under the brake lever edge. The puller was around £10.
Ian This is why I love this place. Neat idea that I never would have thought of.
