Only time I ever did a 'stoppie' was in a license driving test. The woman told me that I went too far out in the lot before my first try. I had just rebuilt the MC, so next time I clamped down. Brought the rear wheel about 3" off the pavement, stopped 6" short of the second line, "Is that good enough?"

My old Y*m*h* 200 could do a stoppie with a 2LS front brake, but then it was a lightweight. The conical front brake on my 650 is good looking, as is the rider* , although fading** is an issue, I'm convinced that my 650 with conical could do a low speed stoppie, providing that the front tyre doesn't slide.

*only one of those statements is true
** the brake, not the rider ... although...

My Aprilia has twin discs with 4 piston callers, each piston has its own pad
The brake is very progressive and doesn't need a gorilla grip to induce eyeball popping deceleration from speeds up to 170 MPH
My OK Supreme is a a 5" SLS drum brake, deceleration is " modest"

The OK Supreme sounds interesting, I watched one on uk eBay earlier this year, I was tempted primarily on the grounds that it was pre-war.

The Aprilia has done well to last 15 years wink
