Can I upgrade to Premium membership without using PayPal ? I would prefer to simply use a Credit Card without registering my details with a third party

Regards Ian

Hi Ian sorry for the late reply,

This request rarely happen these days

We have only Paypal as pay service.
You have two possibilities with these links
1, to login to a paypal account ( not your option)
2, pay using your card without being login to Paypal only using the credit card service. this option is same as you pay with any other company that you buy from,

apart from that I can take cash in a letter, i'm sure I would be able to use it in the future.
Please check if the second option is ok with you.

Since you are hesitating I would advise when you decide please consider a lifetime membership as you would not have to renew your membership.

Good luck

BSAing you

Thanks for the reply, I'm happy to take out life membership. The last time I tried to pay it wouldnt let me leave the first page without selecting PayPal. When on the next page I opted to use a credit card but im sure it still wanted me to fill in PP details highlighting missing information in red.

I'll try again tonight.

Ian

Understand this one idea: PayPal IS a national bank.

As such, their security is probably more up-to-date and better than the local bank that issued your credit card to you to begin with !! When you sign up for PayPal, they tie your account to either a credit card OR a bank account. By signing up for PayPal using your credit card you are ADDING security to your credit card. When you use PayPal to make a payment, the seller does not see your credit card number. That means the seller cannot come back at a later date and make additional charges. That's the fear of using a credit card over the internet. So using PayPal adds to your security.

In my state (Georgia) using a credit card gives me 90 days to refute any charges. So the only time I want to use my credit card directly is when buying an appliance or service where I might later want my money refunded should the product or service be faulty.

Most of the "horror stories" circulating on the internet about PayPal are from their startup days, when they were part of eBay. All that's over. I've been a member now for 10 years and had zero issues.

If you are a small business owner, PayPal offers credit card services via your smart phone by manual number entry, or card reader services using a Four Square reader. I have a friend that runs his entire business this way, and he has zero issues as well.

Hope this helps.

I don't keep any money in it, so the "really bad" part would be just for those people that depend on it somehow.

I don't, so if it "POOF" just goes away someday, or fails, or whatever, then we'll be right back where we were in the Paleolithic Stone Age years of, say, 1999.

Life wasn't so bad, or so different, back then ...
