Just like it says....I need to see some clear coil mounting brackets / coils for a 69-70 A65. That way IF i do go with stock coils, I can get the correct mounts. I'm not sure what I'm doing yet.
Thank you.....
Mike

Mike, I'm putting the coils back on my bike tonight. What information do you need? I'll take some photos, but if you need specific angles or measurements, let me know.

The easiest thing to do is google "a65 coil mounting brackets", then select "images" from the list- lots of pictures. After selecting an image, hit "visit" for more info. Many will direct you back here to britbike forum.

I use google rather than the forum search- type what you're looking for then add "britbike forum" at the end.

Hope this helps.

Here are some pics I took a few minutes ago:

The thing in the middle is not a washer, but the spacer I had to set on its end to keep from rolling off the table.

I forgot one more I took that sort of shows the shape of the standoffs.

The little spacer in the middle is very useful. I cracked a few of the bent mounts until I discovered that a spacer I had (bought as part of buying everything on the parts list) was meant to fit between the coil clips. I discovered that on a thread here just like this one (this Forum is great). In fact looking back through this thread it was the one linked to above by triumphdave. smile Burton Bike Bits have the coil clips currently at a reasonable price compared to others.

Be careful about the part number for the coil clip as coil diameter changed late 60's which buggered me up a bit when looking for the clips. I think the later bikes use the 'small' diameter coils and the early ones 'fat' coils, but you would need to verify that my rubbish memory is correct.

Cheers
Ray

I am late to the party (as usual) and FWIW, my '69 A65T that appears to be mostly unmolested doesn't use the mounting shown above. My bike uses the larger coils (48mm?) with ring mounts that are at least similar to those above and the attach with the bolts that hold on the sidecover bracket (68-9340 shown on plate 14 of the 69 parts book).
