Hello, I am trying to help a friend assemble a velo clutch from parts. We are not sure which model these parts are from, if in fact the same model.
The Clutch Sleeve Gear Nut is not long enough start to thread onto the main shaft. I am hoping that someone has parts to hand to measure the
Sleeve Gear Nut from both the 7 and 9 plate clutches to check the difference. I thought I had the correct one (C5/25) for a 7 plate but would like
to know the difference.

Mick.

According to "Norm's Technicalities" there were two different sleeve gear nuts used on seven plate clutches. Rigids used C5/25 @ 9/16", spring frame models used C5/2 @ 3/4". It can be difficult to get the nut to start. The are various tools available to aide in this operation or ways to improvise an aide.
