What size and how the hell do you get at the rear head bolt between the cylinders?? I need to pull the head off.

That is a 3/8 dia. stud, you WILL need a 5/16 Whitworth or 1/4 BSF ring spanner ( wrench ) to get onto the narrow space, you will get a fractional movement of the nut .... BE patient,
depending on how " beefy " your spanner is , you may need to grind some metal off the outside radius of the spanner to clear the fins around the nut.

I ground down my only 1/4 wrench and was able to get it off. Found a used snap-on replacement wrench on eBay so I guess I'm good for next time.Thanks for the replies.

The raw castings # for the 750 atlas and commando are the same. However it seems to me the later commando seems to fit more box wrenches with out custom relieving for them to fit in the "as cast" barrel. The atlas' I've worked on seem more often than not needing a thinner box wall than the commandos.
