T'other day was MOT time for the Hundred Dollar, wheeled it out of the fettling shed, turned on the petcock, (note the use of the Americanism for this American heap) and placed the key in the hole, turned it after pulling out the choke, and....BUGGER all... mad

Nothing, not even a glimmer from the lights, that are permanently switched on, so a call to the MOT place to cancel. And I threw it back into the fettling shed in disgust, bloody modern heap, that sodding battery's been on trickle charge for ages, only took it off the week before... mad

Investigations revealed the problem, the Voltage regulator is robbing the electric out of the battery, so I've placed an order and am awaiting it's arrival as we speak... wink

So imagine my trepidation, as I wheeled the A10 onto the bench, it's been stood standing there, unloved for nigh on a whole YEAR... shocked

I'd *Planned* this, as I wanted to use the A65 a lot this year, it's got a lot of work to do next year, and I want it RIGHT. So the A10 was put into holiday mode, but it's time I used it, so fettling was afoot. First change all the oils, clean out the filter and replace the twist on filter as well. Oiled up and greased, I turned on the Petrol Tap, tickled the Carb, and placed me size 11 on the starter... ohno

Bloody thing only fired up FIRST KICK... beerchug

Now I KNOW why Americans ride Brit bikes.... laughing

I love when my rusty classics are more faithful to me (even after a period of neglect) than their newer counterparts.

Part of the fun.

The A10 always starts on the first kick, but the T100 with a Boyer requires 2 or 3. I like the Lucas K2F with lower compression.

I just don't understand it. Hardley gets its electrics from the same Taiwanese folks we are forced to patronize.
Can't even live up to Emgo QC standards?
