Me and Red were lucky enough to secure a site down by the lake in our motor home we call the Meth Lab....we'll see if it can pull the bikes up that mountain!

Correct Mac. The Britbike.com parking area will be at spots A24 and A26 according to Greg. I’m told Greg, Mike Baker, Gordon, David P, DPO and Red, and Marlin are confirmed as there.

Hey guys, I have been staying low key after my shoulder surgery, wasn't sure if I would be riding yet. Surprise, I have been out several times without any issues. If you don't mind me showing up on my Guzzi I would like to stop and say hi.
When does everyone plan on arriving? Any plans for rides?
Looking forward to seeing everyone since I missed TSMR.

I'll be there Thursday about dinner time. Nobody minds seeing a nice Guzzi. One of the regulars always brings her V50.
Rides are planned for Friday and Saturday. Text 6153364674 to find friends. Top of the hill, area A.
Look for the big canopy and the red Ford van.

I’m at the top of GA400 getting gas before adventuring into real darkness on the goat path. Bike running like a top. 6.2 volts.

Made it! Full moon under the Stars. I let the cars go by so I could chase up the hill looking for deer. None seen. Lovely night. Somebody has paved the goat path. The gravel is gone. I’ve got about two hours to get set up and get the bike under cover. Thank goodness DAVID is already here.

Happy happy! only serious rain was when we were all at the BBQ place for supper.
The rest of the guys are all in bed. They plan a ride to TWO in the morning.
I'm a night person, I found old friends and stayed up.
Big party is tomorrow night. We'll see who's still hard core.
Sucks getting old.

I had some friends come up for the meet and spent most of Friday and Saturday playing tour guide riding some of my favorite less traveled roads. In addition to all the Brit Bikes we even saw a couple stray Guzzis! We didn't get to the show until after 2:00 on Saturday.
First thing we did was try and buy event tee shirts only to find out they were sold out of our size. We ened up buying the next size larger, we can always grow into them.
The bikes on display were amazing and thanks to everyone who took the trouble to bring them to the show. I wish we could have stayed longer but that weather system looked threatening! I geared up and headed home leaving the storm in my rear view mirrors. Still had a great weekend and hope everyone else had fun too.

Jerry

It WAS threatening.
I voted in the show and moved to the pavilion with the vendors. The black clouds to the west warned of rain approaching, but what broke loose surprised us all. Extreme winds wrecked many EZup shelters, which became flying projectiles. Large limbs were torn from trees, striking one guy and coming very close to some tents.
The winds only lasted maybe 10 minutes and nobody got hurt, but the dumpsters ended up full of bent up shelter frames.
Afternoon rain storms are common in the mountains, but I've never experienced one like this at the rally.
Needless to say, the field games were cancelled.

Other than that, we had a great time.

Sounds like a good time...one of these years I'll have to decide to do this instead of the TSMR frown Sux only being able to do one event so far from home each year, but that's what happens when you're born good looking but not rich grin

My ideal trip would be to do the TSMR and just kind of wander around the area till BIBR, but my wife might miss me a bit and then realize she doesn't need me around after all.

DPO bailed on us and never showed. Camping were David P, Semper Gumby, Georgia Cracker, David Duke, and Mike Baker. Gordon rode for hours in the rain to camp at the motel. Since I'm only about 45 minutes away, I commuted on my 400 Suzuki SM.
We hung out a lot on Friday, and read Gumby's texts as he told us mile by mile where he was. With pix too! A few malt beverages, and some really good company made for a nice relaxing day. It was a spectacular day, but it's rained almost every evening for a week now.
Saturday morning was magnificent again, so it was off to join the crew for a ride to Suches for breakfast. They were leaving the fairgrounds as I arrived, so a u turn put me in the rear of the pack. At the fuel stop, Gumby volunteered to take the lead and show us some roads we hadn't been on yet. Trying to keep up with a pilot, and a racer makes for an interesting ride. To say the least!
We had a very nice, if uneventful ride, and the usual good breakfast at TWOS. After digesting a bit, it was deemed necessary to check out some little seen roads on the way back to Hiawassee. Once again, it was try to keep up with the pilot, and keep the racer in the mirror. Somewhere along the ride, a yellow BMW flew past all of us, and disappeared into the distance. Now the only way I can get ahead of the fast guys is to get a hole shot on them, and ride as hard as I can. When we turned onto 129, that's just what I did. Had a really exciting ride up the mountain, and on to the Sunrise store for fuel. As I pulled in, expecting to see Mike behind me, I was surprised to see the yellow Beemer. Even more surprised to see it was Dr. Whatley's brother, whom I had the pleasure of meeting at last year's Three State Ride.
We chatted for a bit, and Gordon cruised in. He wanted directions back to the fairgrounds, so I joined him for a leisurely ride back. The bike show was pretty cool, and we hung with Dr. Whatley while he and David explained slash two Beemers to me.
The radar showed a nasty looking storm on the way, so I beat feet home, beating the rain by about twenty minutes.
All in all, it was a great weekend, with really good friends to ride with, and I can't wait for next year to do it again.

Mike, if you really want to hang here between events, let me know. We have a rental house on Air B&B. I can reserve it if I know you'll be here. Triumph riders get a discount, too!
