Raced a 1971 Firebird at Aonia last weekend.

First event AHRMA vintage motocross and took my first Checkered Flag. The guy in front of me stopped after the first lap and we were running away from everybody else. I. The second Moto I ran away from the pack and then a condenser wire came loose under the seat and I had to let them by on the last lap.

Then came the cross country. The big old bikes were lined up in the third wave. I did three laps in 55 minutes and then Fouled a plug!

I missed the TT changing the tires on the FB but made the Short Track event. Did 18 practice laps and then fouled a plug again before the start. I raced in the main but didn’t get credit for it.

All in all great fun. I may have to get two more bikes for this. I can’t be missing the short track changing tires. And Mike Baker is out there riding that triumph on the road courses. It interesting that I’m really competitive in the cross country and motocross but dead last in the short track. The class I’m in is a 750 class so I’m racing inexperienced against bigger bikes.

Things to do....

Well that roadracer wouldn't be much good on a cross country now would it?
FYI, you should have someone your own size to pick on very soon - the desert sled is almost at the point where I can start it.
See you at Aonia this fall!
