The fiberglass oil tank for my B44 has surface scratching and I would like to give it a better finish. My thought was to rub it down with 1000 grit wet sandpaper to remove the scratches then buff it to give it a shine. Would this work? Woodsie

the gel coat has the colour in it and it is very thin
Go to a boat shop & get some fiberglass polish
