Shopping for a luggage rack for my '70 (frame) A65, I happened on this ad (Scroll down to BSA A50/A65 1967-1970):

http://www.classicbikeracks.co.uk/triumph

I like this one very much, but I'd prefer to order within the U.S. if possible, so I'm wondering if anyone over here carries this particular rack. The ad does not list brand name or manufacturer information, but it does specify stainless steel.

They are made by one guy in his garage and only available from him currently, I have 3 of various types and they are well made just needing some cleaning and polishing.

Kommando, is that an offer to sell?

Yes, I spent about an hour tonight shopping online and came up empty handed; that is, I saw nothing that resembled that rack from classicbikeracks. One feature of that one that's important to me is the integral grab rail, mainly as a vertical attachment point for whatever goes on the rack.

No wink and you would need a Commando or a T120 to fit them to.

When they arrive if there any welds with discolouration use dilute phosphoric acid and a nylon scouring pad, barbecue cleaner solution in the UK contains phosphoric acid.

Mark--you should have no concerns about ordering from the UK.
This guy sounds very reputable and Kommando infers as much.
If you are still hesitant then I am sure there are guys on this board from UK who would buy it for you and send it to you.
I have done similar quite a few times for guys in UK who were hesitant about buying from US.

My only concern about ordering from the UK is the exchange rate, and the shipping cost, although I didn't actually ask for an estimate on the shipping. IOW, I thought if it were a manufactured item, I could possibly get it cheaper over here. I'm satisfied now that that's not the case, and I will probably order...

that is, after getting my computer "cleansed" and re-upping my security manager subscription - I'll be incommunicato until tomorrow.

Mark,

I have a luggage rack marked for a BSA that is old. It is not a pristine piece, but more than functional. Since I am in the downsizing mood at the moment, if you want some pics I will get you some and give you a good price to move this rack along to someone who wants to use it.

Mark--the exchange rate plunged after the Brexit vote in UK--to the benefit of us in US who buy with $s.
(Not so good for me --I have most of my pensions in GBP so took a bath as the exchange rate plunged).
Prior to Brexit the exchange rate was about $1.6 = 1 GBP---now it is about $1.4 = 1 GBP.
So this means an item priced at so many GBPs now costs about 12.5% less in US$.
Time to buy!

When I visited the UK in 2005, the exchange rate was $2.15/£1 .... the last time it was $1.32/£1.

So you just never know; guessing exchange rates is like day-trading stocks, there's a bit of luck involved!

I stopped believing for a little while this morning. Journey is really going to be upset.

Well that didn't go so well. On trying to check out, I got the message "Sorry, our products are not currently available in your region."

(FWIW, the current exchange rate is $1 US = 0.67611999 lbs.)

I was looking at one of his racks a couple months ago, emailed him directly to get a quote to USA. He got back to me in about a day with a total cost, suggest you try the same.

Steve, I couldn't find an email address on his website, just a phone number - do you know the email address?

Thanks,
