Well, after acquiring my 1970 A65F as just a stripped parts engine and a bare but hacked up frame back in 2008, I was finally to the point of being able to see if it would run. And it does ! Still a lot of small things to tighten up on the bike before I take it for a road test but for now, I am super happy to have it running !

I am running a Boyer Mk III ignition with a Di-Rect regulator/rectifier unit, 6 volt coils and Motobatt MB9U battery.

Hope you all like the video too beerchug

Sounds good!

What did you have to promise her to get her to say "Take One!" on the 12th take? laughing

Thanks ! That was actually the second start. A few minutes previously was the actual first startup. It started on the 3rd kick. I shut it off, went excitedly upstairs and got the missus and returned with camera in hand. Now, as for the video , that is take one grin

Feels good don't it?

Wired in series, so similar total impedance to one 12 V coil.

Many electronic ignitions require two in series. Putting two 12 V coils in series in a 12 V circuit weakens the spark.

Tracey If & when you do a waste spark EI. HD 3 ohm dual tower coils are plenty full and cheap out there. Waste spark HD coils have only 2 terminals for the 12v wire & trigger wire
They also come round and rectangle shape.

I think Tracey says it all, thanks for the video Jon......bike sounds good.

Thanks also for the brief history regarding the rebuild, makes me feel a little better knowing that the '70 TBolt I've been
working on seemingly "forever" has a way to go before it can lay claim to be " the longest continuous BSA rebuild project of modern record".
It's actually getting very close start-up day itself, hopefully it'll have me grinning with the same grin you've got in the video.......!

Phil
