As the 650SS example was / is a fairly rare machine in the US, any idea's on values of that machine ?, i.e basket case to fully restored example.

Thanks.

The answer to that is probably along the lines of how long is a piece of string.

If you watch fleabay and craigslist, prices can vary all over the place.
Folks ask silly prices for complete basket cases - and less than complete ones.
Asking prices for whole bikes can vary from quite low, to quite silly, with no obvious rhyme or reason.

Probably depends on whether you are buying or selling too.

Hereabouts, (in Oz) I doubt I could find a 650ss in any condition for less than $10k,
and good ones can ask considerably more than that.
Different market of course..

Hi Limey Rider, to auctually offer you a helpful answer, a friend on the east coast recently bought a basket case 650ss, very complete, but needing a full rebuild. He paid $3,000.
A Norton owner in California that I know purchased a freshly restored 650ss 2 years ago, he paid $14,000.

A good friend of mine here in Ohio just restored his 650SS a year ago, not sure he would sell it, but I am sure he would be happy to talk to you about the different challenges he faced during restoration. feel free to PM me if you would like more info!!!
