Hi All. I am working on an A65 that has been in storage many years. The oil tank filter 68-8328 is frozen in place. I am soaking to free up.
I believe the filter is a Whitworth size. However, my new Whitworth set does not include that size.
Anyone know what size the "bolt" head is on the oil tank filter?
Thank you!

On mine a 1" a/f is a very good fit.

On my A65 the existing oil tank filter hex is 9/16 Whitworth, however I also have a spare filter specifically advertised as being for A65's and the hex is 5/8 Whitworth. I don't know why there is a difference or what the original hex size was though I suspect it was 9/16 Whitworth.

There's a handy conversion table At this Link which shows the commonly used Whitworth / B.S.F to SAE / A.F (inches across flats) sizes and conversions to metric and decimal inch dimensions.

Have you tried what the British call "an adjustable spanner, " also known in the USA as a "crescent wrench," also
known as a "Hillbilly fits-all?"

Hey, thanks for all the posts. Much appreciated! My 9/16 Wentworth didnt fit so I'm guessing its the 5/8 Whitworth. I'll get one while it soaks some more.
I already nicked a corner with my crescent before my original post. Its locked in but good.
