Hi Everyone,

would someone know if the there is a washer under the left rear axle nut of a 69 Lightning? The parts list show a brake plate collar part number 68-6132 and would that be on the nut side or the brake plate side? Also the parts list shows that there is not a washer on the right side. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

It goes against the brake plate. Like a washer, but a thin spacer. No washer outboard on either side.

Leon is correct.
I struggled with the proper setup for the rear axel arrangement 20+ years ago on my rider and again lately on a 1970 model that displays evidence of having ben "ridden hard and put away wet".
The axel nut on the rear brake side of this 1970 is of a lessor OD than the one on my old rider, so to help fill the gap at the swingarm slot I used a thin washer. I also used a washer on the opposite side "just because"
although the parts books don't show one. My rider has always had one as well.
Of course these bikes all have their own personality, so YMMV !

So it looks like this spacer goes between the swingarm the brake plate, correct?

Thank you
