I believe that the Spitfire scrambler transfers for the 1961 were 1 on the top of the gas/petrol tank and 1 piled arms logo on the oil tank. I am going to need a couple of each as I have 2 gas tanks and 2 oil tanks. Were there any other locations that had transfers/decals ? Can anyone recommend a good transfer supplier. I will paint the tanks , place the transfers but will not clear coat.

I got into a feud with another supplier today, an Englishman who supplies BSA spares. He is selling on eBay items he refers in his listing using THREE different descriptions for the same item: "decal," "transfer," and "sticker."
The item is the exact oil tank / battery box trademark you mention.

As is my habit, quarrelsome Irishman that I am, I called him out on it. The item can be ONE of the above, but NOT ALL THREE.

He got arrogant, telling me in no uncertain terms he has been "in the business" for 40 years (I've been in it for 50) and insinuated I didn't know what I am talking about.

The sad part is: this seller has a long association as an insider of the U.K. BSA Owners Club.
This is tragic. He is considered an authority on the BSA marque.

What is it with people like this who can't get their product descriptions correct, then get haughty and attempt to browbeat
someone who attempts to straighten them out? Is it because he considers me "a stupid American?"

His customers will suffer if he describes the product incorrectly, and it is too expensive ( and useless) to make a complaint to eBay about it. I've been through it before, now I don't bother.

The same British "dealer" on eBay is still using the same confusing descriptions to sell the same "sticker," or "transfer,' or "decal" to uninformed buyers.

Sad, but I guess his arrogance trumps his sales integrity.

Could be worse.
He could be printing a full page of random and oft unrelated images printed on too thick mylar and calling them a "complete decal set for abcdef" as some twat is doing.
I get regular enquiries from people wwondering where this or that sticker should go and then they get upset when they get told of the 25 images on the page only 3 go on their bikes and the three correct ones could have been bought for less and are better reproductions to boot

Yes. The "Made in England" script on the right side head stock gusset.
