Having removed the existing wiring harness from my 1971 Firebird I noticed that the two wires attached to the alternator are both black rather than the normal green/yellow green/white. A check on the alternator reveals that both stator and rotor are new, the stator having '10A' stamped on it.

Therefore, does the absence of colour coding indicate that it doesn't matter which way round I connect them to the main harness?

Brad

Yes. Alternator is AC, connect to rectifier AC terminals, job done.
