This lovely '66 Lightning is new to me and missing a few pieces.

The pistons came in a box and are marked "1.50". Does that mean the pistons (assuming they are for this bike") are for a 1.5 mm bored over cylinder? Isn't that a lot? What's the most they can be bored to? I'll be on this forum a lot in Spring when I attempt to make this a runner.

1.5mm is .060ā€ Iā€™m running this over size on my motor with no problems. I think map has .080ā€ pistons and maybe even .100ā€ but your getting a bit thin by then... however a lot of it is down to the barrel casting.

Great, thank you! Don' t know why they don't just mark in inches as that's how the rings seem to be sold.

Generally rings are measured in mm for bore, 1/8" for width & 1/10" for radial depth.
Always amused me.
