Hello all,

I have a question about front rims. I have a '69 B44 VS with drum brake and horribly pitted 19" rim. I also have a decent Hap Jones 19" rim lace to a disc brake hub. Are they interchangeable? Or is there some minute difference due to the different hubs and dimples that make it not possible?

No, the VS rim is specific to a single sided 8 " hub (but the 7" single sided rim does fit), the disc one will probably for a cotton reel type hub and the spoke pattern will not match. If you do not want to go for the proper rim then you may find the Royal Enfield rim for their 7" single sided hub will fit but you will have to try it out first and for the cost difference not worth it. Don't ask the seller if they are India based, they always say 'yes it will fit' .

The difference isn't minute, it's probably quite a bit
I don't know the dimensions of your disc brake hub
but the BSA single sided hub has a unique pattern
the left side is drilled for a very small hub
and the right (brake) side is drilled for a very big hub
and the spokes on the brake side are splayed out at a very wide angle
I have seen rims laced with the wrong drilling pattern
the spokes look bowed (not good)
HTH

Hi,If your victor has the single sided brake hub it will not work. The drill pattern will be different. On the victor the left side and right are drilled for different
angles to lace to a hub that is asymmetrical. The disc will have all 40 holes drilled at the same angle.
