What do you think of a thread that has anything and everything, obscure or not so obscure , that pertains to our lovely bikes . These can be war photos , reviews from the pioneer days of an AMAL manual. Anything interesting. Might be informative. Might be entertaining. But I dont want to be the only one posting. So come on , If you like the idea. Dig out your old mags and manuals and post them here.

It can even be cool photos of our bikes in action

Wade do you have a high res version of the Triumph chasing a flying saucer? I would love to print that for the shop wall.

I will drag out some things to post.

Here are some pages from the 1966 Triumph Brochre that was very nicely given to me when I bought the Thunderbird. The theme "Go Modern, Go Triumph" is carried out through various images of Supersonic Jet Aeroplanes, Super Highways, etc on each page. Celebrating the Atomic 1960s!

That '66 Triumph brochure is interesting. The T120 shows a color scheme on the tank that I hadn't seen before and it looks like the fenders are painted.

It is a Home Market brochure, Bill... I do wonder if the color has faded on it, the T120 tank does look much more orange than red, doesn't it?

Yes it spawned my thread in the Triumph forum about differences between home and us market bike specs and differences.

The peg with the t bird shows my bike as it is- black and silver, low bars, etc. whereas the US TBirds were orange and white with higher bars on them.

Very cool . Keep'em coming

Not sure I have the triumph cover in high rez. I have a lot of scans but unfortunately no easy way of cataloging them. Other then a folder of bike stuff and a folder of photo ideas and a folder of pin up girls and a folder of garage project ideas ect. ect.... You get the idea. Each folder has 1000's of photos in each one and I just plop them out here for us all to look at again. Maybe some one has a copy of the magazine. I have a few but I dont think I have that one.

More images you say ..... OK

Thanks . Yeah I hit it hard right out of the gate hoping it would get people interested in posting their own stuff. I wont have enough myself to keep this going but I bet if everyone posted their finds then we would have quite a library of interesting things. So far so good . Looks like there is interest. Thanks for posting .

This is great stuff and very educational for the motorcycle history buff, or even those of us who own machines from those periods.

Maybe one of our Brit friends who remembers the old money can tell us why so many prices in those days (in this case the old Norton on hire-purchase) ended in the figures "seven and six". I know this was like "10 pounds, 7 shillings, and sixpence", but I see that "7 and 6" figure all the time. It's not quite like our $13.99 or $7.95 (to make it look like less than it is ....) ??
