AMA announced today the dates for Vintage Days at Mid Ohio. Mark your calendar for July 10 - 12 2015.

Hopefully I don't have to fly off to some 3rd world hell hole that weekend and can attend for the entire weekend. And maybe, just maybe, I will not only have, but remember to load in the trailer, a bike for the cross country. laughing A bit of a joke with RT, George, and Bill

And hopefully RT will be allowed some time off from the new job.

Hope to see you there!

According the Farmers Almanac, there is going to be a big hurricane that weekend on the outer banks. So your family should reschedule the reunion by one week. laughing

While that wouldn't surprise me, in-season rentals impossible to change. May leave early though, depending on how much fun I'm having...

I'll be there. I'll make sure Matt and Curt get it on their calendars too. It was a real bummer without our ring leaders and the compound. I'm glad you stopped by and said hello. How is RT doing?

RT s doing good. He has changed jobs since last year, not sure how it is going to affect his plans for this year. That is why I am setting low goals for 2015. I plan on being there and setting up camp as usual. Just may not have "events" like usual.

Wauseon doesn't conflict this year, so that is a good thing!

I hope to compete in the cross country with my Spanish appliance that followed me home eek

Those dates lay over top of some stadium concert gigs already booked for summer 2015! No way to predict if I'll get the work or not from this far out- but I am going thru my calendar and slotting in various vintage and other bike events for this year!
I mean, a guy can dream, right?

Dang! That looks like the face of a man that has been married 38 years!

yo Brian, I bailed on the Evil Empire, much happier and things are working well. But did go from 6 weeks vacation to 2! No matter, it's all better in the long run....

Hummm.... post dual sport ride, got my jersey and high socks on still. MX boots in the background! Don't look much worse for the wear after riding the KTM 990 through the woods.... but no beer? what's wrong with me??????

Vintage CC at Mid-O? Do tell?

Obviously not an AHRMA event.

CC opportunity aside, I am looong over due a Mid Oh visit - though this year is shaping up to be very challenging for free time. Fire Truck Mike & I celebrate a birthday on the 11th, so could lend additional weight to the effort to make it this year... even if I just fly up for a social weekend.

Man, I hate that that had to happen. When I left my job of 27 years with 5 weeks vacation, and was offered a job at another place with good pay but 2 weeks vacation, I sort of dug my heels in and requested (demanded? I wasn't sure) the 5 weeks vacation I had at the other place. They ended up giving me 23 days and I settled for that.

With all the things that guys our age like to do that "require" vacation, you're going to have to be creative (personal time? Sick leave?) on finding time to do the important stuff like bikes and riding!

A little to much of the meds you mentioned makes Ron very relaxed.. I have loads of similar photos so he must have taken loads of meds at the rallies.. grin
And I'm sure Ron can find few on me to after I had some of RT's medication..
Just saying bro.. wink

Hey Ron, glad to hear you're alive and kickin'. Love the picks. I have a very similar one of Morgan if you'd like me to dig it up. I hope to see you and Rich both this year. 2 weeks vacation really sucks.

Vacation? What's that? laughing

All my "off" time is is now, and [almost] always has been unpaid. I think I had one paid vacation over the course of my working decades. Still, it's good for one's mental health to walk away for a few days... or weeks. grin Not having any debt sure helps my own cause in that regard. Having said that, I can only really take so much time during busy months. To that end, I THINK I'm gonna go to the INOA Norton Rally this July down in Asheville, NC as my summer split from my work jones. Something different.

At the swap met in York there was a guy passing out notices for the AHRMA event in Jersey. Asked him if it conflicted with MO again and he said yes. Told him as much as I would like to check it out MO was kind of a tradition. Gave me a dirty look and walked away.

I agree. Yeah, I could drive one hour to South Jersey or 8 1/2 to mid ohio???? And I would choose Mid-O everytime. The event in New Jersey has the potential to be the next Barber or Mid-O but so far I have been less than impressed. AHRMA could care less about the swapmeet or anykind of vintage displays or shows from what I saw.

That's the way it was for EVERYONE for thousands of years, and the way I always tried to think of my job.

I tried to have the mentality that my great-grandparents would have. They were farmers and storekeepers, and they had to work when there was work to be done. Stores were closed on Sundays, and farmers would TRY to knock off Sunday depending on the weather (not dairy farmers, of course - that's 24/7/365), but if you took off work you just didn't make any money; you made the choice.

I wouldn't have minded if they'd gone back to that, sort of .... take a leave day whenever the work allowed and you wanted to take the pay hit. Seems more natural ....
