NY State. There are (at least) several regular contributors from NY.

I've always felt it was a good idea to put your city, state in your profile.

Quote T140V-Rich: "A possible benefit is that a newly arrived member might discover a bit of help is across the way that they never knew was there. Or maybe a riding buddy might be found."

Apparently my sentiments are not shared by many judging by the amount of excluded or obscured place locations. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Several not mentioned from NC

Gordon, Me, Don Roe and several I won't mention because they never post.

Al: With security issues on today's internet it is understandable why people don't mention their home town.

If I hadn't posted my address and a map to my house on BritBike (ie the Internet), then how would I have gotten to know a lot of the great people on here that I had never met before?

Being able to have people over and have friends get together and ride and talk Britbikes is WAY more of a positive than some vague "internet privacy threat" is a negative.

At least for me. I'm not going to let the bad guys have me hunkering down behind a bunker and a firewall in case they decide to come get me. If you do that, they've won already.

there are three of us here in Nebraska that post and ride, maybe three more that are never seen.

Or you can go up top to the user list and see 309 pages of names and locations.

I agree 100%. That is the reason I have my location on there so if somebody local or another member is in the area and wants to meet up with a fellow BritBiker then they know there is somebody they can contact.

As well, I am not going to hide from my fellow Brit Bikers because some stone age, cavemen types of whom I have had the pleasure of fighting against on the battlefield in the not to distant past are sending threats and as well, the thugs and criminal types who like to take from those that have to give to the have nots to include themselves aren't going to stop me either.

OK, someone correct my math if I'm wrong. Also, since there are several who are residents in two states, I simply designated a half for each respective state.

Ohio - 6 1/2
North Carolina - 4 1/2
Maryland - 3
Nebraska - 3
Pennsylvania - 2 1/2
Texas - 2
South Carolina - 2
Florida - 1 1/2
Derbyshire, UK - 1
Barrie, Ontario, Canada - 1
Nanaimo, BC, Canada - 1
New York - 1
Idaho - 1
New Mexico - 1
Colorado - 1
Virginia - 1
Indiana - 1
Vermont - 1
Wisconsin - 1
Washington - 1
West Virginia - 1
New Mexico - 1

I haven't counted those who ride Britbikes yet do not post on a reg basis or are not a member at all. If they post up and cast their vote, certainly I'll count them. I know of six Britbikes here in SC but the three owners of the bikes are not members. I think this fair and goes toward the goal of just getting a vague idea of where everyone is located. For example, if someone does mention a well-known poster who simply hasn't seen this topic post, eh, list them. We've seen their name before, certainly.

I'll do another BB state/parish/shire member count on Thursday.

Cheers, lads. And lasses. I'll add Barb in next count. She's got to be in.

Richard

From the Neterlands, does that count ?

Most of the posters on this forum have their location mentioned in their profile, only a few have not, do these guys have something to hide ?

There were more Dutch. I even met some of them a few years ago. I wonder where they all went...
Scattered illusions maybe about finally getting the Brittish Bike free of problems?
