Wade, we are anxiously awaiting your professional presentation.

I have more of the Golden Gate, PCH and Big Sur.
Some the wife and I took out on the Coast in Sonoma County, and the line up behind the "Servants Quarters".

I've had multiple mechanical failures to deal with since the Rally, none of them Motorcycle related.
Didn't someone mention trying to catch up? 12 inches of grass to mow?

I've mowed 3 acres so far. 6 more to go. Waiting for a new carb for the weed wacker.

Your pics have been moved or deleted according to my screen...need to mow bad. Should say the weeds need mowed, I don't have a need to mow. Gravely starter won't. Busy with conference. Grass getting taller. I can hear it growing from here.

Gravely? Yeah I've got a Gravely, 1982 5665 Professional with a 30" brick throwing deck.
PTO clutch discs went out just before Shane and Cheryl arrived from Australia.
Then the weedwacker needed rebuilding and the fuel pump on the Cushman Truckster...

I'll catch up this weekend, maybe.

Looks nice Boomer... real nice! That's in a dry year huh?
Do you need any tenants?

Brown down here, never got a chance this year to see much green.
The hills were lit up like Ireland for just a few weeks, used to be half the year.

Bill(the other Bill), do you have a snowblower attachment for your Gravely.
It's my understanding they put out quite the impressive plume.

Pommard clone of Pinot Noir. 12 year old vines. Just starting to produce some good flavors that come with older vines.

That little patch is just 104 vines. At the time it was the only clear ground I had. I've since taken out 3 acres of very old filberts and replanted 2 acres in a new disease resistant variety of filbert and almost an acre of 2 and 3 year old vines. About half or 250 vines of that are Cabernet Franc and another 250 of Pinot Noir and a couple of short rows of Chardonnay. I'm in the middle of Chehalem Valley, the middle of Oregon Pinot country, but I don't have the best grape growing land as far as soil and aspect but you know what, I own it and I'll do what ever pleases me. And I please to make wine.

We've got more than a few home Vintners down around here. I have a welder who harvests Cab.
I try to only use his services during the Spring. Stinkin' wino..

Filberts? What other sorts of nut groves do you guys got up there?

Digging the whole set up there Bill, is that a daylight basement?

There's a few walnut groves but filberts (hazelnuts) are the big thing.

It's a full basement. Has a big ramp for bringing wood in for the wood burning forced air furnace. Stays 58 to 60F all year round. Perfect for wine storage.

Didn't mean to hijack my own thread so here's some more rally pics.

We like the small out of the way wineries. This is Elizabeth Spencer in Rutherford. They only make about 8 to 10 barrels a year. Their tasting room used to be the Rutherford post office, built in the 1870's.

Hi all,

Better late than never. First of all, I had a great time slumming with the BSA owners and would like to thank them all for their tolerance toward this interloping Triumph owner. Fortunately for me, Wade's trailer was already overflowing with bikes and bits, or I may have tried to work out a deal with someone to bring home a BSA of my own. Although everyone seemed pretty possessive of what they had so that might not have bee possible, anyway.

In any case, I have a zillion photos from the three weeks I spent with Wade ping-ponging across this grand country of ours, but not wanting to start a whole new thread, I hope it's okay to piggyback a couple of pics to this one.

[Linked Image]

Here we have a pre-rally confab where Wade, about an hour away from his maiden voyage wipe-out on his barely street-legal '57 Goldstar, discusses this very possibility with Deiter and Tom. I'm fairly certain this is the point where Dieter is telling Wade, "I wouldn't ride your bikes around the corner, let alone take them to a rally." Despite his misgivings, however, Deiter did agree to ride the '51 for the shakedown ride -- riding right behind Wade, affording him a front row seat to the carnage that was to come.

[Linked Image]

At the rally, Allan tries his hand -- or foot, rather -- at starting ol' number 27. Allan was the first one who managed to start it post-accident, using a technique with the compression release that no one else was able to master. Hence, it remained dormant for another day or two.

A shot of the spectacular Northern California coast while a few ne'er-do-wells (who appear to be working out their album cover shoot) block the scenery. (Wade, Bill, Rich, Don.):

Great to have your contributions. It was also good to meet you there at the rally.

Jamie says.....

So that conversation actually happened?
I could see Deiter saying that, laying it all out there in simple, certain fashion. Priceless.

Thanks for posting, I know there will be more from you and others.
