This appears to be the modern reprint of the same book for a fraction of the price....

Guys where would one find a period sprung solo saddle for this little ride? Those jam pots are a rather unyielding suspension.

Thanks.

Try the usual big name shops- Raber's in San Jose, British Only, etc. There are also several repops on E-bay, India made. But the biggest thing to be aware of is that there are two basic sizes- smaller ones for the lightweights, and larger ones for the bigger capacity machines. On a used seat expect to have to replace the 13 or so springs on the underside of the seat- usually they are stretched with one or two missing springs, this will cost about half of what you have just paid for the used seat that needs the springs! Search words include Solo, Lycett, and Terry.

I rode her around today leaving puddles of oil from the primary case in several locations. I also found that from a stop, she doesn't like first gear. It will sometimes pop out of gear.

Otherwise, it seems the engine has freed up quite some little bit, and while certainly not going to set any land speed records, it was a competent around town in traffic sort of bike.

The rear brake was not working at all. I'll take the wheel off sometime this weekend and see if I can determine the cause. Probably rust or grease or something on the shoes. The front brake is surprisingly effective.

I think I could really grow to like this little bike. Just that I will try to find that sprung saddle as I broke 2 vertebrae in my neck and 4 in my back in April, and while little bumps are ok, moderate ones cause me to see stars.

Thanks for all the help guys.
